A delegation from Helmholtz Association, one of Germany’s largest scientific organisations, was received by KAU President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, on April 4th.
The delegation comprised Prof Jürgen Mlynek, the Association's President, Mrs Dagmar Mlynek, Prof Peter M. Herzig, Director of Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research, Dr Warner Brookman, Director of Jeddah Project, and Prof Georg Teutsch.
The meeting was also attended by Prof Adnan Zahed, KAU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr Al- M. Al-Aidaroos, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Sciences, and the faculty's vice deans.
A film featuring KAU's infrastructure and achievement was screened during the meeting.
A presentation about the Faculty of Marine Sciences was also given by Sultan Al-Lihaibi, who also highlighted a proposal for establishing a red sea research centre.
The delegation also visited the Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research, the Center of Excellence for Osteoporosis Research and the Center of Nanotechnology.
